U4 has focused on two areas of reduction, Energy and Paper.

Energy
Reduction in the amount of electricity actually has two savings.

• Energy efficient lights saves both electricity and reduce heat
  
• LCD Monitors saves both electricity and reduce heat
  
• Reflective roofing reduces heat and electrical cooling needs
  
• Solar panels reduce the amount of electricity needed
  

When you combine all the reductions in electricity use and the reduction in heat production from a change of equipment you also reduce the cost of cooling. Add in better insulation and reflective roofing you get even more savings in cooling. This is where the real energy saving from start to compound.

It is not one but all the savings that really add up.

Paper
Reduction of the amount of paper you use saves an incredible amount over the year. U4 emails bills, charges a paper bill fee, and has a paperless office.
