Scholarships – Community Involvements
U4 accepts applications from high school seniors in the Wawasee Corporation who are planning to pursue further education in technology or business. Every year, one senior is given a laptop computer. We enjoy helping and giving back to our community.

Jeremiah Bauer - 2006
U4 presented Jeremiah Bauer with the 2006 Scholarship. "Jeremiah exhibits a thirst for knowledge in computers and science," said Rich Hays Director of Marketing at U4. "U4 enjoys giving back to the community," Hays continued. "A laptop computer will help a great deal when it comes to my studies at Purdue!” commented Bauer. “U4 had 25 applications this year, up from 2005,” said Hays. Hays continued, "We know that having a laptop will make studies easier." Jeremiah is the son of Dan and Sarah Bauer and will attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Jeremiah will be studying Computer Engineering. While attending Wawasee High School, Jeremiah participated in Marching Band, Jazz Band, National Honor Society and Church Youth Group at the North Webster Church of God. Jeremiah graduated with a 9.943 GPA.
Dustin Morren - 2005
Dustin is the 2005 winner of the U4 Laptop Scholarship. "We are honored to be able to assist Dustin in preparing for College,” said Plikerd. "I cannot tell you how much this laptop will make my college studies easier," said Moran. U4 has offered a Laptop Scholarship since 2003. Plikerd said, "We as a community need to help the youth in our community to attain the high level of education they can. These young adults are the future of our town. The more help we give them, the stronger town we build."
Brian Stutzman - 2004
Brian Stutzman a graduate of Wawasee High School received this years 2nd annual computer scholarship award. Ben Plikerd of U4COM presented the award to Brian at the schools senior awards ceremony on May 28th. Brian was chosen this year for his outward look on life and his business goals for the future. 27 applicants applied this year for the award. "We would have liked to give everyone this award, but had to make a very difficult choice" stated Scott Wenger CFO. "This is just one small gesture of how much we want to give back to the community" added Ben Plikerd. U4COM wishes to thank everyone that applied for the award this year.
Kelsie Bender - 2003
It is with great pleasure that U4Com awards Kelsie Bender with this year's computer scholarship award. Scott Wenger, of U4Com, presented Kelsie with a Compaq laptop computer. Kelsey is the daughter of Curtis & Debra Bender who reside in Milford, Indiana. She will be attending Bethel College and is interested in studying business. Best of luck, Kelsie!
