U4 purchases new desks for its provisioning group

A local business in town decided to close its doors after 18 years of existence. Syracuse Printing Company also known as SPC & Design has been selling all of their office furniture. U4 has been in need of new furniture for its provisioning group once the U4 corporate headquarters is remodeled. The four desks are glass and include all items needed for a complete office. There is also a room divider in the middle of the desks. Once the provisioning office is completed there will be approximately eight workstations for provisioners. U4 provisioners have the responsibility in the company to work orders which includes migrating customers from previous carriers to U4 along with any changes they like made.

$40 credit for all business customers switching to U4COM

During our department head meeting tonight we made a final decision on our contract terms. We will offer only one year contracts for business customers. These contracts include a $40 credit applied to the customers account per circuit. This is an extremely exiting offer to our business customers. Business customers can still convert to U4COM telephone service without a contract they just will not be eligible for the $40 discount to their account. Ask a U4 Business Account Manager for more information.

New conversion prices to be set for 9/1/2006

Effective on 9/1/2006 we will begin charging business and residential customers $40 to switch services to U4COM. This conversion fee is all U4COM local circuits. Customers actually will be able to waive this transaction fee during setup if they subscribe to a three year contract. The one time credit contract amounts are as follows:

1 Year - NRC $(-15.00)
2 Year - NRC $(-25.00)
3 Year - NRC $(-40.00)

These new contracts are for business customers only and were put into place due to high demand of business conversions. U4COM is encouraging all of their new customers to sign up for a three year contract locking them into a fixed price.

ICE – “In Case of Emergency”

Putting the listing of ICE in your address book in your cell phone just might help save your life. Paramedics and Police officers are now being trained to look up contacts in your cell phone to get a hold of your loved ones. They are especially trained to look under the heading of “ICE” which stands for “In Case of Emergency”. You might see U4 add some of these things to our VOIP and standard account information. Who better to know how to get a hold of someone for you then your phone company.

U4 makes more progress on its data center

U4 makes more progress on its new data center. We are currently in the process of phase one of construction for the new data center. We will be putting cinder block on all outside walls for fire prevention. This data center will be entirely white as we will be calling it a clean room. Our AC unit is fully functional and waiting on the rest of the room to be demoed.

U4 Green Shirts

During the fairs we supplied all of our staff members with green U4 shirts with a white logo. During previous years at the fair we have provided white shirts with a black logo. All of the staff seemed to think the shirts really seem to fit the U4 Green theme. In past years we choose to wear white shirts so they would be cooler and we just couldn’t find the right color green. I think we have finally found the correct color green for our shirts. In the next couple of months we hope to offer them for sale on our website.

New Billing system upgrade 7.14b

Today we released the newest version of our billing system 7.14b. This will help improve customer service by allowing a couple of new things.

  1. Flagging accounts – If we need to talk to a customer we can flag an account and if there is any activity on that account during the month, from a phone call, payment, or visit, we know there is something we need to talk to the customer about.

  2. Invoice calculations – At a moments glance in our billing system we can see what the new charges or payments made on a particular invoice.

We are really excited about this new upgrade and thanks to Margaret & Marty who spent hours working on it.
