2. How do you measure the size of a company?In the Telecom world one way is the number of minutes of LongDistance handled. Well, we are proud to tell you that U4 handled morethan a million minutes of long distance last month.

U4 likes to think GreenU4 like to scrutinize our current practices and figure out how todecrease costs while doing it. We converted all our lighting over toflorescent. Each incandescent bulb you change to mini florescent willsave you more than $11.00 a year in electrical cost. Mini Florescentbulbs also give you more lumens (the measurement of brightness) forthe savings. Look around the room you are in and count the lights.How much money can you save over the next year?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A comment from the President of U4"Did you know that Uncle Ben's rice processes somewhere around theneighborhood of 7 trillion pieces of rice a year? Wonderfulinformation you get to learn on the travel channel. What is moreimpressive is what they do with the byproducts or the shells of rice.They actually use their waste to power their plant; it is almostentirely a self sufficient plant. Only if most companies thought thatway, can you imagine. In Syracuse we have a local quick lube; they useall the old oil to heat their building. No longer does he have to payfor removal of that oil. He actually can save thousands of dollars inheating as well. "

6. The future of communication
How long have you had a phone in your house? Ever since you canremember? Talk to your Parents, maybe your Grand Parents, they mayremember a time when they did not have a phone. Do you remember thefirst "Bag" phones? How long ago was that? Have you seen the IPhones?The future is smaller and more functionality. The day will be hereshortly when you can get TV on your cell phone. Your cell phone willbe an MP3 player, IP video player, scheduler, address book, and more.If some of these terms are unfamiliar to you, read on next month andU4 will tell you more.
